Elle - Reading your beautiful words has just made me cry my eyes out. My grandad recently passed away and was the last of my grandparents to leave us. My grandmother died when i was 7 and i too understand that anger at being left so young without them. Not that they have all left me..i am not afraid that death will come to me aswell some day..but look forward to the day when i will see them all again. Time will not heal your pain,but it will hopefully ease it. Remember that every ray of sunshine upon you is her smiling face.

B. - wow! I just found your blog, and I'm boo-hooing! That song is special to me, too. It was my dad's favorite, He sang it often, and it was sung at his funeral. As many times as I heard him sing that song in my youth, I never thought he would actually "fly away" someday. Listen to it carefully, and see it from your grandma's point of view. She wasn't afraid to die. I like to think that when someone I love dies, there will be one more familiar face in heaven waiting for me! no more tears, now... thanks for a good cry!

What a beautiful testimony to your Grandma! Bless your heart! I lost my Dad when my two boys were too young to remember him. It gives me great comfort now, that my boys are a little older, to see features and qualities in them that remind me of my Dad. My youngest son's hands look just like his and my other son's freckles are just like his Grandpa's too. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for sharing about your sweet Grandma!

Rebecca Tyler - Oh Angela, you have me in tears over here. What an incredibly sweet post. You are in our thoughts and prayers today. What a little trooper you have. I know it had to have been hard for you and your husband to see your little guy go through this for so long, but I am so happy to see that he has finally gotten the help he needed...and that little smile at the end is priceless.

My baby has an ear issue (1 of his ears did not fully develope while he was in the womb) that will need an operation for reconstruction when he is about 6 yrs. old...I am already so emotional about having to see him go through it, and he's only 4 months old now. (gonna be a long 6 years. lol) It is refreshing to read about your strength for your son during such a difficult time.

Angela - Oh, thank you all for the sweet thoughts and prayers. I really do appreciate it from the bottom of my heart!

Jon was a little uncomforable last night. I could tell he was because he was holding his ears a lot;but he never, one time, complained out loud! I am so proud of him. He truly is a fighter! He's my strong little man! The only time he cries is when we give him the ear drops. He hates the ear drops!

Jon woke up this morning, feeling great! He's running around wild as ever and it's only 7 am!

Sherry B - Wonderful documentation. I'm so glad that your son did so well! That really helps us parents when the kids do such a good job at stressful times, doesn't it?
And He's so cute...I guess, I should say handsome! ;)

Ellen - Aww.. Yay Jon!! I'm so glad he got through it well, any type of surgery is scary, and it looks like he was really brave.
